Here the events are:

rolling an even number

rolling an odd number.

The events are not overlapping, because there is not an outcome in the die that satisfy both events.

b) Pulling a spade or red card from a standard deck of cards.

Those events are also not overlapping, because all spades are black cards, so if we draw a spade, it means that we do not draw a red card, and if we draw a red card, we do not draw a spade.

c) Randomly getting a red skittle or a yellow skittle from a bag.

Same as before, if you get a red one, you can not get a yellow, these events are not overlapping.

d) Rolling a 2 or an even number on a six-sided die.

Ok, 2 is an even number, this means that if we get a 2 in the die we are satisfying both events, this means that the events are overlapping.
