y=2x+4

x+2y=6

2y=6-x

2y=-x+6

y=-1/2x+6/2

y=-1/2x+3

y=2x+4 and y=-1/2x+3

look at the two slopes from these two equations here,

y=mx+b where m=slope.

The first line has a slope of 2 and the second line has a slope of -1/2. Which means/indicates that they are perpendicular. Because one of them is the negative reciprocal of another.
