the distance formula is:


d = √((x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2-y_1)^2)

so if you simply plug in you get:


d = √((2 - 3)^2 + (-4-(-6))^2)

simplify


d = √((-1)^2 + (-10)^2)\\

simplify again


d = √(-1 + 100)\\

and again


d = √(99)\\

and you have an answer
