The scientist would then form a hypothesis, which is their educated guess on what the outcome would be. For example, “If 20 people ate 1000 more calories a day and 20 people kept their normal healthy diet for 3 months, then those who consume 1000 more calories a day will develop or show signs of hypertension and those who kept their normal healthy diet will keep a consistent, healthy, blood pressure throughout the experiment.”
