Breaking code was such an essential necessity for the Allies as a result of the need for them to be able to read the secret messages being passed across by the enemies. This would be able to enable them to plan on how to counter the attack being planned.

In order to overcome this barrier, they had to employ the best code crackers who contributed greatly towards cracking the codes and interpreting the messages being passed across.

This success helped the Allies in winning most of their regional wars as well as jump starting their offensive against the Axis power in the pacific.
