It was late, but Jen was hungry anyway. She had been too

busy to eat all day, and now all she could think about was a
hamburger and fries, and maybe a milkshake, too. Jen
pulled into the drive-thru, but found that it had closed at 10
p.m. Jen sighed. What else might be open? She spotted a
24-hour joint across the street. She looked both ways and
pulled out into the road again.
What can you infer from the text?
A. Jen is a student.
B. Jen is hungry
C. The drive-thru is closed.
D. Jen is driving

Answer:

D. Jen is Driving

Step-by-step explanation:

It is never specifically said that Jen was driving but pulling into a drive through and pulling out into the road are both clear indications of driving. Although it's never said that she was a student, nothing indicates her being a student, eliminating answer A. Answers B and C are not inferences as they are already stated clearly in the text so those answers are eliminated. The only answer left is D. Jen is driving.
