if x = the number of nickles and x-34 = the number of dimes then .05x + .10(x-34) = 4.85 or .15x = 8.25 x = 55

So, nickles = x = 55

dimes = (x-34) = 21

55+ 21 = 76 So, that means your answer is C. 76 coins
