The mean age of 5 people in a room is 40 years.

A person enters the room.
The mean age is now 37.
What is the age of the person who entered the room?

22years

Explanation:

The sum of ages of people in the room is 40 * 5= 200

[ Remember mean = total ahead of people/ number of people]

Let the age of the 6th person be X

200+x. / 6 = 37

200 + x = 37 * 6 = 222

x = 222- 200 = 22
