There is a closed carton of eggs in Mai's refrigerator. The carton contains "e" eggs and it can hold 12 eggs. What are some possible values of e that will make both e < 12 and e > 0 true?

A couple of solutions:

-Any numbers from 1-11

-E can also equal 12, or can equal zero (≤ or ≥)

Explanation:

The first value is true because 0 and 12 aren't an option because the two equations incudes 0 and 12, but. 12 is greater and 0 is fewer/less than e. This means that it can be around any number from 1-11, so any of those numbers are possible.

The next value can also be a solution because e can equal any number in that batch. This is possible because it can be greater than zero, less than twelve, or it can be equal to any of those.

The would have to be whole numbers since we don't have parts of eggs in an egg carton
