y= -2

Explanation:

-x + y = -1

2x - y = 0

Add the two equations together to eliminate y

-x + y = -1

2x - y = 0

x +0y = -1

x = -1

Now find y

-x+y = -1

-(-1) + y = -1

1+y = -1

Subtract 1 from each side

y = -1-1

y = -2
