Mean: 10.5

Median: 6.5

Explanation:

To find mean, find the sum of all of the numbers, then divide the sum by how many numbers there are in the data set.

8 + 7 + 6 + 3 + 47 + 7 + 4 + 2 = 84

84 ÷ 8 = 10.5

To find the median, list the numbers in order from least to greatest, then take one number off from each end of the data set until you get to the middle.

2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 7, 8, 47

In the middle lie numbers 6 and 7. To get the median, find the sum, then divide it by 2.

6 + 7 = 13

13 ÷ 2 = 6.5
