The primary coil of a transformer has 225 turns and secondary coil has 1800 turns. The potential difference in the primary coil is 250 V and the power input is 3 600 W.

PLEASE SHOW ALL STEPS!

a) Is this a step-up or step-down transformer?
b) What is the current in the primary coil?
c) What is the power in the secondary coil?
d) What is the potential difference in the secondary coil? e) What is the current in the secondary coil?

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

a ) Since number of turns in secondary is more than that in primary so it is step up transformer.

b ) power in input = 3600W

Current x potential of primary = power

current = power / potential of primary

= 3600 / 250

= 14.4 A .

c ) power of secondary = power of primary = 250 W.

d ) potential diff of secondary = (1800 / 225) x 250

= 2000V .

e ) current in secondary

= power in secondary / potential in secondary

= 3600 / 2000

= 1.8 A.
