you start driving north for 16 miles, turn right, and drive east for another 30 miles. at the ending of driving, what is your straight line distance from your starting point?

Pretend this is a triangle you know what two of the sides are and you need to find the longest side or the hypotenuse. We can find thiss using the Pythagorean theorem which is
A squared plus B squared equals C squared
With each letter being a variable of one of the sides. C is the hypotenuse so plug in your values and solve for C.

Doing this, the answer is 34
