A pet store has 14 puppies, including 5 poodles, 5 terriers, and 4 retrievers. If Rebecka selects one puppy at random, the pet store replaces the puppy with a puppy of the same breed, then Aaron chooses a puppy at random. Find the probability that they both select a poodle.

Answer:

25/196 = 0.128

Explanation:

There are a total of 14 puppies, 5 of which are poodles.

The probability that Rebecka selects a poodle is 5/14.

Since the poodle is replaced, the probability that Aaron selects a poodle is also 5/14.

So the probability of both is (5/14) (5/14) = 25/196 = 0.128.
