Explanation:

- 7x - 60 = x^2 + 10x

add 7x to both sides

x^2 + 17x = -60

add 60 to both sides

x^2 + 17x + 60 = 0

factorise quadratic

(x + 12) (x + 5) = 0

x = -12

x = -12x = -5
