A rectangular garden measures 28 ft by 40 ft. Surrounding (and bordering) the garden is a path 4 ft wide. Find the area of this path

first off you will want to find the area of the garden, which is 1120 ft squared, we’ll come back to this

Since the path is 4 ft wide and surrounding the garden, its area is 28+4 by 40+4, minus the area of the garden.

32*44 = 1408 - 1120 = 288 ft

you may or may not need to write it as feet squared
