£30 is divided between Sushil, Fiona & Pip so that Sushil gets twice as much as Fiona, and Fiona gets three times as much as Pip. How much does Sushil get?

Explanation:

Let Pip's share (p) =x

Fiona's share (f)=3p=3(x)

=3x

Sushil's share=2(f)

=2(3x)

=6x

x+3x+6x=£30

10x=£30

Divide both sides by 10

10x/10=£30/10

x=3

Pip get x= £3

Fiona get 3(x)=3(£3)=£9

Sushil get 6x=6(£3)=£18
