Brice has twice as many stamps in his collection as his friends Anthony and Paul

combined. Paul has 32 stamps in his collection Brice has 96 stamps in his
collection. How many stamps does Anthony have in his collection?
The equation 2(x +32)=96 models this situation. Which choice
shows the sequence of operations needed to solve this problem, using
both arithmetic and algebra?

Answer:

Anthony has 16 stamps.

Explanation:

First you need to start off using the Equation 2(x + 32) = 96

Using the distributive property, distribute the 2. 2x + 64 = 96.

Then you would subtract 64 on both sides t get rid of 64. 2x = 32

To get x by itself you would divide 2 on each side. x= 16

16 Is how many stamps Anthony has and you can check this my adding Paul's stamps and multiplying by two, because Brice has twice the amount of them both combined.
