If I´m not mistaken the world war 2 didn´t last (luckily for us) more than 5 years. As a matter of fact, it started as a European war and didn´t reach it´s global size until 1941. But it can be safely said that in the four years of world war 2 the Texas manufacturing industry (like the synthetic rubber producing plants in Houston) developed rapidly.
