Answer:

It would not particularly be a factor that effects the player.

Step-by-step explanation:

Body composition typically refers to ones bodyfat percentage and muscle mass percentage (the amount of each you have). Volleyball is a skill sport that requires agility and great jumping ability as well as percision. Although muscle mass would be beneficial for a volleyball player and the lack of fat is physcially appealing. One would not beneift from having higher muscle mass percentage than another player or a lower body fat percentage than another player. Reason being, a lot of these skills are motor patterns that one needs to learn and master via repetition. Example: serving or bumping a ball will not improve because you have more muscle than your teammate who might have more fat.. and you might not be able to jump higher because you have more muscle compared to your team mate who has more fat. These performance skills are based on ones ability to practice and master them. Jumping high comes from training to jump high not because you have more muscle... You need to have power generating fibres to jump high. Also, volleyball is not an aerobic sport as there is not much running involved, it is very short lived in duration per point. I would argue that your body composition is meaningless. However, you will often find taller players are the succesful ones in this sport and that is something that is out of your control.
