What is the volume of a square pyramid if the perimeter of the base is 44 in and the height is 19 in.? Round to the nearest tenth.

The volume of pyramid is given by

volume = 1/3(area of base) * height of pyramid

Given shape of base is square and

Perimeter of that square is 44inches

We know that perimeter for square is given by 4* length of side

Thus,

44 inches = 4* length of side

 Length of side = 44/4 = 11 inches

Area of square is given by side*side.

Thus, area of square base of pyramid is = 11*11 inches square = 121 inches square

Now that we have area of base and height of pyramid .

Substituting these value in formula for volume of pyramid we have

volume = 1/3(area of base) * height of pyramid

 volume = 1/3*(121) * 19 = 2,299

 volume = 766.33

Volume of square pyramid rounded to nearest tenth is 766.3 square inches
