A circular hot spring has a diameter of 76 meters. Over time, the diameter of the spring decreases by 4 meters. By how many square meters does the area of the hot spring decrease? Use 3.14 for Pi.

( ANSWER QUICK , had to repost since yall aint responding )

Answer:

The area of the spring decreases by 370.52*10⁴cm²

Explanation:

The formula for calculating the area of the circular hot spring =
\pi r^(2) or
(\pi d^(2) )/(4)

Initial area of the spring with diameter of 76metres is as shown

= (\pi (76)^(2) )/(4) \\= 1444\pi m^(2)

If the diameter of the spring decreases by 4 meters over time, the new diameter after decrease will be 76meters less 4 meters which is 72metres.

New area;

(\pi (72^(2) ))/(4)\\ = 1296\pi m^(2)

Decrease in area = 1444πm²-1296πm²

Decrease in area = 148πm²

= 370.53m²

since 1m²=10⁴cm²

then 370.53m² = 370.52*10⁴cm²
