x + y = 1000 tickets........................... eqtn 1

1200x + 800y = 928000 shs.........................eqtn 2

solve the simultaneous equation by elimination by multiplying eqtn 1 by 800 and eqtn 2 by 1 to be able to eliminate (y) when subtracting.

you will get ; -400x = -12800. Cancel out to get x as 320.

use any equation to get y

i used equation 1 ; 320 + y =1000.

subtract 320 from 1000 to get 680.

multiply the number of tickets by their corresponding amount to get the answer as;

1200 sh tickets = 384000 shs

800 sh tickets = 544000 shs.
