Number of failures = 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12

⇒ odds for stopping on 2, 3, 7 or 10 = 4/8 = 1/2

"Odds against" - Number of failures : Number of successes

Number of success = 1, 2, 3, 4

Number of failures = 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12

⇒ odds against stopping on 1, 2, 3 or 4 = 8/4 = 2
