I have to do homework, but i kinda need help with an answer. (this is not the actual question but it is related to it!)

What gets energy and matter from non-living things?

and i dont need examples of non living things but i need to know what gets that energy from the non living thing
please give me a good answer for points

plants, since they get energy from the sun. Also, herbivores. They eat plants, which are considered non-living organisms.
