Mr. Morris is going to save money and replace his sailboat's mainsail himself. He must determine the area of the mainsail in order to buy the correct amount of material. Calculate the area of the parallelogram to determine how much material should be purchased. Be sure to explain how to decompose this shape into rectangles and triangles. Explanation:

start off by finding the area of your triangle that put you at 18. to make the rest easy make another triangle on the other side and you should come up with a perfect square and 2 triangles. find the area of the square which is 121 and then multiply your triangle area by 2 because you have 2 triangles that comes out to 36 add 121 and 36 and you get 157. which is the area of your parallelogram.
