Think of a movie or a book in which someone has to stand up to a group. Why does this
character refuse to follow along and engage in herd behavior? In other words, what makes
this character different? What would you have done if you were in this character's shoes?

Answer:

In the book Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett the demon Crowley works with a angel to stop Armageddon. Crowley does this because he is fond of life on earth, He cares about life unlike the other demons. If I had been in his shoes I would run away, facing off against the forces of heaven and hell would be terrifying.

Hope this helps!
