Explanation:

1. 21 + 2x + 29 = 180 (as supplementary angles sum to 180 degrees).

2x + 50 = 180

2x = 130

x = 65 degrees.

2. x - 36 + 73 = 180

x = 180 + 36 - 73

x = 143 degrees.
