Answer:
The Night Angel Trilogy
Step-by-step explanation:
Azoth is a helpless boy handed a raw card who must deal with an unfair, harsh lifestyle at a young age; he’s in a guild-the Black Dragon guild-and must pay tribute daily to Rat. The only way the welps can do this is by stealing, scounging, or robbery. Soon into the novel, Azoth becomes rebellious and refuses to pay tribute, as he is saving to be free of the guild and be apprenticed by the renowned master wetboy Durzo Blint. Although he endures severe punishment, he eventually achieves his goal with the help of his best friend, Jarl.
Azoth knew there would be many negative consequences, but he pursued his ambition because he was desperate and determined, and couldn’t bear the thought of living the rest of his days as a petty thug in the warrens, dirty, cold, weak and poor. He wanted to reinvent himself, to become Kylar. And so he did.
I believe I also would have continued my original choice, as Azoth did; he had already started in motion a series of events that were inevitable and terrible, so it would be senseless to give up. He was tired of his life and so he claimed a new one with much strife. Although it would certainly be difficult, I would also strive to become a wetboy.
