base*height

The formula for the length of the base is :
base=(area)/(height)

To work out the value of x you would divide the area of 120 by the height of 8, this gives you 15 yd. This is because the formula is base*height and so by dividing the the area by the height we are rearranging the formula to
base=(area)/(height).

1) Divide 120 by 8.


120/8=15 yards
