We are unhappy with ourselves because we are unhappy with how we relate to ourselves, not the other way around. It’s not your flaws that you need to work on: it’s the way you talk to yourself. The problem, of course, is that we can’t break up with ourselves, or leave an abusive relationship with ourselves. They feel scared or feel others’ pain strongly within themselves when seeing others scared or in pain. Cognitive empathy, on the other hand, is the ability to understand the emotions of others. A good example is the psychologist who understands the emotions of the client in a rational way, but does not necessarily share the emotions of the client in a visceral sense.They see life as a human existence and material things as being subservient to this. They value harmony and use tact in their interactions with others.
