x=16 and y=7

Explanation:

This is easy. Its a systems equation.

-3x + 8y=8

3x - 9y= -15

-3x and 3x cancel out

8y plus -9y= -y

8+-15= -7

y=7

-3x+8(7)=8

-3x+56=8

-3x=-48

x=16
