Answer:

a prime number is a number greater than 1 that you can only multiply it by one and itself to get that number( it might sound complicated)

A prime number is a special number because it means that it only has one factor pair and that factor pair is always 1 and the number itself.

In other words, prime numbers are the numbers

divisible by 1 and the number itself.

For example, let us take 2.

2 has only two factors and those are 1 and 2 so it's prime.

Similarly, 7 is also a prime number because it has only two factors

and these are 1 and the number itself which is 7.
