multiply 3 with the variable and number in the bracket

so (3x+6)

then multiply 4 with the variable and number in the bracket

so (4x-20)

New equation:

(3x+6)+ (4x-20)

Combine like terms and add them

so 4x+3x and 6-20

remember the rules of negative with positives

ur new equation is

7x-14

now you can divide to find x

divide 7 on both sides

so

x=-2
