A box of different colored crayons has one red, one blue, one yellow, and one green crayon. From the box, a child randomly selects a crayon, then without replacement selects another.

Determine the conditional probability that the second crayon the child drew was blue, given that the child selected a red crayon on his first draw.

Answer: 1/3 chance or 1 in three chances

Explanation:

Originally there were 4 crayons but since she took out the red and never replaced it there are 3 in total now. Since there is only one blue crayon there is a 1 in 3 chance of her randomly picking out a blue crayon.
