3. (1) Freedom of Religion
Congress shall not make any law over an establishment of religion. They cannot prohibit meetings or gatherings or stop the free exercise of a religion.
(2) Freedom of Speech
Congress may not abridge or diminish the freedom to speak or write freely.
(3) Freedom of Press
The government may not censor, review or epitomize books and newspapers before they’re printed.
(4) Freedom of Assembly
This protects the right we have to hold public meetings in large gatherings for a political, religious or public reason.
(5) Freedom of Petition
The people are allowed to petition (ask) for the government to correct problems and grievances.
4. The accused has the right to a fair trial with a jury to prevent arrest for people with little to no evidence. They are entitled to due process of law, meaning the jury must be biased and not favor either side. It is they’re right to hear the charges against them and question prosecution witness. The accused must be allowed a lawyer and the court will provide them one if the accused can not afford one. This ensures a fair trial and that the accused has a proper defense.
5. Cruel and unusual punishments are very common in third world countries. These punishments dehumanize those who have been arrested and put them on the brink of death, and they’re allowed to do it. Some include PHYSICAL abuse or MENTAL abuse. Physical abuse are basically torture methods and mental abuse could be interrogation, manipulating and triggering mental health problems. These both are however NOT allowed in our country. In the Eighth Amendment, it forbids this punishment for crimes.
