1)

We need to find length of bigger rectangle

A=lw

216=l×9

l=24

2)

We need to fing length of smaller rectangle

Sides are corresponding, so

(3)/(9) = (l)/(24) \\ l = (3 * 24)/(9) \\ l = 8

3)

Now we can find area of smaller rectangle

A=lw; l=8, w=3

A=8×3

A=24cm²

Answer: A=24 square centimeters

Answer:

24

Explanation:

If you know that the area for the large rectangle is 216 and you are given the width then you can find the length. All you do is 216/9 and you get 24. At the smaller rectangle the width is 3, so you will divide 3 from the big rectangle to find the length of the smaller rectangle. 24/3=8. So 8 times 3 is 24 and that is your answer.
