Explanation:

Let the number of Pots be x.

Number of Buckets be y.

From given data we have,

Customer Bought $1140 worth of 192 poys and Buckets.

Total Items=192

x + y = 192 ----------->1

Total Cost=$1140

Cost of each Pot=$5.

Cost of each Bucket=$7

Therefore we get

5x + 7y = 1140 --------->2

Solving equations 1 and 2

Equation 2 - 5×(Equation 1)

5x+7y=1140

- 5x+5y=960

-----------------------

0+ 2y=180

-----------------------

2y=180

y=90

From Equation 1 we get,

x+y=192

x+90=192

x=192-90=102

Hence we get

x=102

y=90

Therefore

Number of pots=102

Number of Buckets=90
