Slope = rise / run. It's the ratio of vertical change to horizontal change as you move from one point on the line to another.

Moving from (-2, 0) to (3, 4), the vertical change is 4 - 0 = 4.

The horizontal change is 3 - (-2) = 5.

The slope is 4/5
