Explanation:

You can use the Pythagroean theorem which is a^2+b^2=c^2.

So AC is the hypotenuse, so a^2+10^2=26^2=a^2+100=676. Subtract 100, a^2=576. Then take the square root of 576 which is 24.

EC is the hypothenuse for triangle EDC, so a^2+36^2=39^2, a^2+1296=1521. Then subtract to 1296 to get 225. Then take the square root which is 15.
