When we work with complex numbers:

⇒ we add all the like terms

⇒ terms with 'i' add with terms that have an 'i' ⇒
i -5i=-4i

⇒ constants add with constants ⇒
-4+10=6

Let's find the sum now:

(-4+i)+(10-5i)=-4+10 +(i-5i)=6-4i

Answer: The sum of (-4+ i) and (10 - 5i) is 6 - 4i

Hope that helps!
