x = 1 and x = 3

Explanation:

Move 8x over to get the equation 2x² - 8x +6 = 0

Then factor to get (2x - 2)(x - 3)

Set both factors equal to zero and solve

2x - 2 = 0

2x = 2

x = 1

x - 3 = 0

x = 3
