it should be B, the north technically suffered more losses but since the south was smaller in proportions they suffered more casualties in the long run. the south also didn’t have as many industries as the north, they were left with only farming and the great snake (blockade) prevented them from exporting to consumers which meant they were suffering even more from loss of income
