Part A.Maggie is making a necklace using 14 inch string and identical beads. Maggie has placed 12 beads next to each other starting at the left end of the string as shown in the figure. The 12 beads fill 3 inches of the string. How many total beads will completely fill the 13 inch string?

Part.BAfter filling the string from end to end, Maggie decides to leave one inch at each end of the string with no beads. How many beads does she need to remove from the beads she used to completely fill the string?

Part a: 52 beads I think
12/3=4
4*13=52

Part b: 8 beads
Every inch is 4 beads.
4*2=8

Answer:

a) 56 beads

b) 8 beads

Explanation:

12 beads take 3 inches so yes 12/3 =4 per inch

but then the necklace is 14 in long so 4 *14=56 beads

if you take off one ince per side you would take of 4 beads per side so 4*2=8 beads
