Lines AB and CD are parallel. If 1 measures (2x + 15)°, and 4 measures 101°, what is the value of x?

Angle 1 = (2x + 15)°

Angle 4 = 101°

Find:

Value of x = ?

Computation:

We know that Angle 1 and Angle 4 stay on same line , so Angle 1 and Angle 4 are liner pair.

∴ Angle 1 and Angle 4 = 180°

⇒ (2x + 15)° + 101° = 180°

⇒ 2x + 116° = 180°

⇒ 2x = 180° - 116°

⇒ 2x = 64°

x = 32°

Therefore value of x 32°
