Answer:

Check below for the answer and explanation.

Step-by-step explanation:

As water is heated and the temperature becomes increased, the molecules gain more kinetic energy (i.e. increase in kinetic energy). This increase in kinetic energy causes the molecules to move with higher speed (i.e. increase in the speed of movement of the molecules). There is an increased separation between these molecules of hot water because of the high speed at which they move which gives them the tendency to drift further apart. The increased separation between the molecules of water translates to an increase in the volume occupied by these water molecules.

According to the formula,
density = mass/volume, the density of a substance is inversely proportional to its volume. Therefore, an increase in volume translates to a decrease in the density. This is the reason why the density of water is increased

Answer:

The expansion of water/ increase in volume and the mass stays constant.

Step-by-step explanation:

As water is getting heated by the sun, it acquires more energy and this energy enables or make the water particle to increase their speed which will eventually lead to their division or splitting. The splitting or division of water molecules causes an increase in the volume.

Please note that; though the volume Increases as we have the sun heating the water, the mass of the water still remains constant and this is what cause the decrease in Density of the water particle.
