Answer:

I know this is old but for anyone else here is the sample response and a slightly edited version of it.

Sample Response:

In the beginning, Turner is unhappy because he has moved to a new town and does not fit in. He meets Lizzie and feels at home with her and on Malaga Island. Then, he realizes that town leaders plan to make the people of Malaga Island leave their homes. As this conflict unfolds, Turner realizes that the town leaders are lying about Malaga Island, and his innocence begins to disappear.

Edited Version:

In the beginning of the story, Turner is sad because he recently moved to a town where he doesn't fit in. He then meets Lizzie and feels happy and at home with her on Malaga Island. He then realizes that town leaders want to make the people who live on Malaga Island leave.
