a) 9 meters.

b) The total change in temperature was of 288ºC

Explanation:

Both these questions can be solved using rules of three.

a) 72 meters in 8 seconds. How many meters it changes each second(in 1 second)?

8s - 72m

1s - x m


8x = 72


x = (72)/(8)


x = 9

9 meters.

b) In 1 hour, heated by 6ºC. How much in total during 48 hours?

1h - 6ºC

48h - xºC

x = 48*6

The total change in temperature was of 288ºC
