Answer:

1- President Bush creates a coalition of world powers to oppose Iraq

2- Congress approves the use of military forces to protect Kuwait

3- Iraq is bombed and invaded for refusing to comply with UN resolutions

4- U.S. troops leave Kuwait quickly after Operation Desert Storm

Step-by-step explanation:

The Gulf War was a war between the United Nations coalition with the United States at the forefront and Iraq, which lasted from August 2, 1990 to February 28, 1991. The war was in response to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait.

The start of this brief war was Iraq's invasion of Kuwait under Saddam Hussein's regime on the grounds that Kuwait was a historic part of Iraq and Kuwait was stealing oil from the disputed oil zone at the border. The purpose was obviously to gain control over Kuwait's oil supplies. Iraq officially incorporated Kuwait on August 8.

Between August and November, the United Nations Security Council approved a number of resolutions that instigated Iraq's departure from Kuwait before January 15, 1991. As it didn't happen, a United Nations multinational military with a total of 500,000 people landed in Kuwait, to restore the status quo. The transnational military was composed mainly of American forces, with significant help from Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Syria, and France. Finally, on February 28, 1991, Iraq was defeated and Kuwait's government was restored.
