Waste disposal services in my area are trash pickups once a week on Wednesday and a Recycling pickup once a day on Tuesday every two weeks. The amount of garbage my Family of 5 makes in a week is 8 bags of garbage and 1 bag of recyclables. I am not surprised by the amount of garbage my family makes, because we are a pretty large family with pets and it is the usual amount. Other than recycling my family could use more washable dishes instead of plastic ones, my family could not waste as much food, my family could reuse items like boxes and containers for storage, and my family could refill things like bottles instead of throwing them away after they are empty.
